The foundational doctrine of the Lodgesworn — a perpetual, unprovable mandate to defend the purity of Chaos against the corrupting infection of Discord.
The Great Theory of Chaos is the foundational ideological framework and operational doctrine governing the Lodgesworn order. Recorded within Article I of their Primary Codex, the theory posits that uncorrupted Chaos is a primordial, restorative force essential to existence rather than an inherent threat to reality. It outlines a perpetual martial commitment to defending the purity of this energy against the corrupting influence of Discord.
As a conceptual magic system, the theory does not possess a singular physical form. Its principles are codified in the historical records of the Primary Codex of the Lodgesworn, Article I: The Perpetual Mandate. In application, it describes uncorrupted Chaos as a wild, natural current that manifests as a sovereign balm of healing, absolute liberation, and systemic renewal.
Lodgesworn ideology strictly prohibits the taming, suppression, or artificial constraint of raw Chaos currents. Warriors are directed to act as stewards who clear away disruptions rather than controllers who master the flame.
The system dictates that environmental catastrophes and ruins are not caused by Chaos itself, but exclusively by Discord — defined as a willful distortion, malicious blight, and parasitic infection upon clean currents.
The ultimate truth of the theory lies fundamentally beyond the horizon of mortal proof. Because it cannot be wholly demonstrated or codified into finite, static laws, it can never yield an absolute victory or an official conclusion to the war.
The Great Theory of Chaos provides the absolute moral and tactical mandate for the entire Lodgesworn order, binding its members to an Eternal Vigil. It establishes a strict ideological divide within the supernatural setting; while civilian groups or corporate entities attempt to suppress or commodify energy grids, the Lodge treats the purity of the current as a sacred mystery that must be guarded without cease.
The framework is actively weaponized by high-ranking traditionalists to enforce internal order. During the council proceedings at Temple Bastion, Grand Master Silas Thorne explicitly cited the theory to justify the strict operational parameters of the order, reminding the gathered Masters that the Great Theory serves as their singular, permanent framework for keeping back the descending darkness.
