The Blightborn are apex predatory monsters generated directly from the environmental corruption of Discord. Existing as manifestations of pure darkness, these entities seek to tear the fabric of ambient Chaos to pieces and spread a localized, toxic decay wherever they materialize. While normally hidden from mundane human sight, the Chaosmatic community catalogs and studies their distinct sub-species to prepare Channelers for the harsh realities of the outer wilds.
To those utilizing Chaos-infused sight, the Blightborn appear as massive, shadowy silhouettes moving inside roiling clouds of sight-repelling smog. When officially preserved or displayed for educational purposes within the City, their physical forms reveal gruesome, unnatural proportions that are deeply reminiscent of normal animals, yet amplified into nightmarish distortions.
Blightborn are hyper-attuned to active signatures of clean energy. If a Lodgesworn warrior channels a heavy Draw without a Discweave shroud, any Blightborn within a fifty-mile radius can immediately lock onto their location.
Their presence acts as an environmental contaminant, causing vibrant green flora to turn a listless brown and turning the surrounding air frigid and stale.

When in motion their massive silhouettes appear distinctly blurry and visually unstable. Their primary anatomical features are a set of heavy, spiked, pincer-like arms capable of tearing rifts through the fabric of reality.
While the Bastionic Lodge views the Blightborn as immediate targets for active, nocturnal hunting campaigns, the civilian structures of Capitol City treat them with academic and festive curiosity. In specialized institutional environments like the "Den of Discord" exhibition, these creatures are kept on display behind roped-off boundaries, lit by dreary, hovering blue light orbs that cast a ghostly glow over the gallery. Here, groups of urban Channelers freely ogle the preserved beasts, turning the visceral horrors of the wilderness into a controlled, museum-style spectacle.
